Usually I eat a fairly healthy diet with lots of vegetables, a fair bit of fruit and drink at least 3 cups of green tea a day, and just the occasional glass of wine. Now why are my joints rubbish today? Oh I might know why! Have just counted up what I ate yesterday.
It started well - Bowl of bran flakes with semi skimmed milk. Then two sausage rolls, a glass of wine, bag of crisps (not the usual low fat no salt type), ham sandwich, handfuls of salted nuts, two pickled onions, a mince pie, another mince pie, half a box of chocolates, coffee galore, a full roast goose dinner with all the trimmings of which I also ate the crispy skin off partners share, Christmas pudding with brandy butter and cream, four more sausage rolls, several lumps of blue cheese (yes I now you are not supposed to eat this on Methrotrexate) more crisps, a spoonful of peanut butter straight out the jar, another mince pie, two more glasses of wine, water biscuits spread with some wonderful homemade chutney friend gave me and more blue cheese, more nuts a glass of port and half a Clementine (threw the other half away as it was dry). Finished the day with another glass of port and the other half of the box of chocolates, well satisfied.
Up this morning from 4.a.m with the runs and rubbish joints. Is there anyone else as gluttonous as I am?

I am just the same Shelia i have been eating loads of chocs ,mince pies , nuts all the things i dont normally eat. I have had a lot of wine and i am quite worried with being on methetrexate . I am due my injection tomorrow and i am thinking about missing it this time because of the wine. I know i have seen it on the forum where sometimes people miss one because of drinking on hols etc. Does anyone know if it will do any harm to miss one dose ? I feel really groggy aswell cause i am not used to eating rubbish food.

Yip me too I'm afraid and I'm diabetic but what the hell- it's just one day and we ARE human as well as RAers! Missing one dose shouldn't harm Benmaise, or you could have it a few days later than normal and then slowly readjust the days till you're back to the same day. Me too, I've eaten like a pig! I also have had more wine than usual , I take mtx on a Monday and think I will miss today's dose just to be on the safe side. I've done it before and it doesn't seem to make much difference. Don't see why we should miss out at Christmas just because we have RA!

Same here- pigged out.
I made a huge christmas cake this year as I love it so much- but I daren't start it as I know I will just keep going....
I've got a massive sweet tooth but all the sugar really seems to affect the RA so I only bought one box of chocs this year. However- I couldn't resist the quality streets at mum's yesterday!
Re the mtx Benmaise-I missed out a dose last week when I had a stomach bug and it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

We did things differently and went out for our "Christmas" dinner on Christmas Eve, which meant I hardly had anything to eat on Christmas Day, so I feel very virtuous now. I'm sure that the fact that what I did eat wasn't at all healthy makes no difference!
